Indulge (a Little) on Valentine’s Day Without Gaining Weight

Last week we discussed two tips for getting through Valentine’s Day without completely ruining your weight loss efforts. The two we mentioned were being specific in asking for something other than chocolates or candy, and to stock up on healthy alternatives in advance so you aren’t tempted to taste all those unhealthy sweets that are sure to be abundantly available. This week, however, we will focus on what you can do once you have indulged anyway (because – let’s face it, we all do it every now and then).

If those red heart-shaped boxes filled with random types of chocolate are simply too hard to resist this Thursday, it won’t mean the complete ruin of your weight loss efforts. Instead, try indulging just a little – if you want to eat the whole box, opt for just a couple of pieces instead. Force yourself to read the nutritional label. Doing this will draw your attention to how many calories, carbs and sugar you are consuming and may help you eat less. Then on Friday, go back to your healthy eating plan as if it never happened and your body will resume its normal weight loss rate in just a few days.

A great way to prevent yourself from indulging in high calorie chocolates is to keep healthier low carb options on hand. Visit us at ThinSlim Foods to find great-tasting indulgences that won’t ruin your weight loss!
