O-V-E-R.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>It&#8217;s ok. You achieved some results.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>You are sick of eating fat all day and it is making social eating difficult.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>It&#8217;s ok. I totally understand.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>Right around the start of 2018, the ketogenic diet really hit the mainstream after a couple decades of being only known in the hardcore bodybuilding world. This jump in attention was problem the result of Tim Ferriss featuring it a lot on his podcasts with Dom D&#8217;Agostino. It continues to stick around after decades because it actually produces results and the science behind it is valid.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>That doesn&#8217;t make it sustainable.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>So what happens now?<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>Well, the major benefit (beyond fat loss), of going on the ketogenic diet is that <em>hopefully<\/em> you have gained a greater understanding of macronutrients (fat, carbs, fiber, protein, etc.), the role that carbohydrates play in diet, and the generalized macronutrient breakdown of a lot of your staple foods.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>If you haven&#8217;t gained this understanding please find a mirror and repeat after me, 10 times, &#8220;I will not jump on a diet without understanding the basic science and reasoning behind it first.&#8221; Far, far, far too many people have been &#8216;dieting&#8217; for years and years and still have no idea about why they are doing what they do.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>This knowledge is helpful beyond the ketogenic diet because it allows you to make healthier food choices.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p><strong>Here are the key takeaways:<\/strong><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p><strong>1.) Just because you aren&#8217;t eating &#8216;Keto&#8217; doesn&#8217;t mean you can&#8217;t follow a generally reduced carb \/ healthier carb way of eating. <\/strong><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p><strong>2.) If you aren&#8217;t eating full &#8216;Keto&#8217; and your body isn&#8217;t going into ketosis, be cautious about over consuming fat.<\/strong> Your body is no longer using fat for energy. The key to the ketogenic diet is being in ketosis. If you aren&#8217;t in ketosis, you should be focused on eating a generally reduced calorie, reduced carb, moderate fat, moderate to high protein selection of foods.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p><strong>3.)
